about me
Elena Schertler, an Austrian artist, currently she lives in Germany and studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Nuremberg.
During her creative process, she glides on roller skates, infusing her artworks with vitality and ensuring she maintains a playful approach. Elena believes that adults often become too serious and overlook the importance of playfulness.
She aims to counteract this by incorporating a playful element into her work, which she believes leads to fresh perspectives and new visions in painting.
Working with various materials such as wax, oil, charcoal, acrylic, watercolor, and yarn, Elena allows them to blend seamlessly, adding depth and texture to her pieces. In her art, she explores the interaction between individuals and their social environments, questioning the role society plays in shaping our behaviors and identities. She reflects on how societal norms often stifle creativity and wonders how embracing the act of dreaming can rejuvenate our creative spirit. Drawing inspiration from snippets of her own photographs, Elena pieces together her compositions like a puzzle, adding layers of meaning and intrigue. Since early 2019, Elena has actively participated in exhibitions, both in physical galleries and virtual art spaces, across Austria, showcasing her evolving artistic journey and engaging with diverse audiences.
